• It is a wrist worn mobile phone for children

• Many parents worry about letting there children out to play so with the new wrist watch for kids they can be contacted at any time.

•  It is a simple phone on a watch. It just has a microphone, speaker, on and off button, and volume control, and also has a GPS.

• Kids can use the volume button to scroll through their contacts and call someone, and the contacts will be read aloud by the watch.
• Parents can also switch the settings so that some calls will answer automatically.

Digital organization to me means all your resources in one place. All your favorite and helpful websites are in one place so its easy to stay organized.

Web 2.0 tools

I would use Plagiarism Checker for my tool and I would use it for any class in which I would have to write a paper for.  I would use it to make sure I'm not copying anyones work so I dnt get a bad grade. It would help me because I would know its my own work and I wouldn't get in trouble for using other people's work. I think this tool would help me a lot.

LG Launches New Smart Appliances Featuring Homechat 

• Homechat allows you to monitor appliances remotely.
• The new appliance will allow you to control the LG smart washer machine, smart refrigerator, and smartlightwaveoven. 
• The oven allows you to send a meeage and say what food you want to cook and it will preheat the oven.
• The fridge takes a picture each time the door is open so you can monitor it. 
• The washer allows you to send it messages to turn it on. 
• It is coming to the US soon.

I think this article is trying to warn you about the good and bad things online. For example you shouldnt post anything you wouldnt want seen in the future, because anyone can see it. You have to be careful what you post because in the future colleges and people you may work for could see it. Also you should be careful because not everything is priviate online when you think it is. The article is giving an outline on what you should and shouldnt do online and to be careful.

 I selected these sites because I want to stay caught up with the news and my personal ones because i enjoy fashion and make-up.

You can use RSS feeds for saving time and staying caught up with the latest news.

                                         Solar Plane

 A team of European engineers made the Solar Plane.

 The Sunseeker Duo is a two-seater airplane that flies on solar power. 

On December 17, 2013 it completed its first flight powered by its own battery.

The Sunseeker Duo's propeller is located on the tail behind the wing, and when the plane switches to gliding the propeller blades fold back.

 Once the pilot reaches a comfortable altitude they are able to turn off the engine and continue gliding, by the solar power.

                HBO Shows are Coming to Amazon 

HBO says their shows will be coming to Amazon but not Netflix. 

Non HBO subscribers will be able to watch HBO shows on Amazon streaming video service. 

Amazon is trying to challenge Netflix. 

If you don't have Amazon Prime you can still watch HBO on its channel. 

Favorite Restaurant

   My favorite restaurant is Sanducci's. It is a small local family restaurant located in River Edge NJ. Sanducci's is an Italian restaurant. This restaurant serves all Italian food. They play Italian music throughout the place. My favorite dish from Sanducci's is Chicken Valdastano. It is chicken stuffed with mozzarella cheese and comes with satueed vegtables and mash potatoes.

    Sanducci's is a small family restaurant that is cozy and a nice atmosphere.  This restaurant is a small family business.  The menu has a large variety of basic Italian food and some unique dishes. This is my favorite restaurant because the food is excellent and the service is great. The staff is friendly and always ask if you need anything else. Its a nice place to eat out with your family. Even when the place gets busy the service is always great.
      If this place were to close down I would go to another Italian restaurant. I would go to something similar such as Paisanos. My family and I go to Sanducci's sometimes and when we go I always enjoy the meal and the night. It is a bit noisy but it is fine and it is just because people are enjoying themselves. Sometimes I will get desert too. When I get desert I usually get the lava cake or tartufo, which is ice cream with a chocolate shell. The staff is always friendly and the food is always great. I am never dissapointed when I go there.

                 Charge your cell phone in 30 seconds

It is called the store dot flash.  

This allows your phone to charge in only 30 seconds.

Your phone can be completely dead and when you put it into the store dot flash it will get a full charge in 30 seconds.

The creators have only made a demo but some say it will be out by 2016.

Amazon's new streaming media device 

• On Wednesday the company introduced a small black box called Amazon Fire TV.
•  It allows television sets to access Internet programming, including streaming shows from its Amazon Prime subscription service, and a giant library of video games.
• The remote control has a voice recognition search feature. With this feature a user can speak the name of a show, actor or topic and find that content.

How can a wiki be used in your current classes?

In history we use a wiki to do projects together. We all contribute information and it s very organized and easy to follow. 

What are the benefits of using a wiki?

The benefits of using a wiki are it stays organized and evryone can add something to the wiki.

How can we create one in this class and utilize it?

We can create one by creating one as a class. We can use it for a class project and students can work on it together at the same time.

I have used a wiki for History for class projects and to look up information for different homework and projects.

Wikis are used to post information and you can edit them. I have used two kinds of wikis for education. One was for looking at information for different projects on wikipedia and another was for world history, our class wiki.

What makes you make a purchase or join something?

I buy a product if I think its worth the money the store is asking for. I check if its good quality.
I join something if I hear good reviews on the thing I am joining and if it intrests me.

Donating Your Voice 

VocalID allows people to donate their voice to people who cant speak. 

You record your voice for a couple hours then send it to VoiceID and a program ModelTalker breaks it into basic units of speech. 

People will not walk around with your voice they modify it so it isn't your exact voice. 

Your modified voice is blended into the characteristics of the patients voice and makes a brand new voice.                                                          

They are still in the progress of making this happen. 

If I could be Invisible

             If I could be invisible for one day I would try to make the world a better place. First I would end every war that was going on in the world. I would do this because I would want the army men and women to go home to there families. I would the donate money to poor families throughout the world so they can live a happy life. I would then try to help all of the people who are very sick and try to make them better. If I couldn't make them better I would try to make them happy for the day.
           If I could be invisible for one day my goal would be to help the world. I would try to make everyones lives better. If I could make everyone happy that would be enough. I would try to improve everyones life. I wouldnt want to be recongnizied because I think people should be a hero everyday. You shouldnt get credit for something you do all the time. You should try to be someones hero everyday without trying to get something out of it. You should be a hero for others just because you want to make someone elses life better.

Beats Music

Beats has now come up with an app that allows you to listen to music.


Unlike Spotify and Pandora where the computer suggests music to you, Beats Music has playlists created by real people on music you may like.


There is no free ad supported version, so you must pay ten dollars a month but you get unlimited listening and can download songs for offline access.


Many people are loving Beats Music and it is recommended by many people.

Apple's New Car Play 

Apple announced Apple Car Play which allows you to put an iPhone into some cars. 

It will allow people to have their phones in the dashboard to use for texting , voice controls, mapping, and more. 

It uses Siri for voice control but only the iPhone 5, 5s, and 5c will work for Car Play.

Although this allows people to do things on their iPhone hand free many are concerned it will cause many distractions while driving.

Do Now:
  We used spread sheets the other day to track how much snow there was each time there was a storm. We can use spread sheets for many other classes and tasks. Spread sheets help us stay organizied and neat. Another way someone can use spread sheets is to keep track of grades. Another example is keeping track of money. Spread sheets are very helpful and can be used for many different tasks.

*These glasses were developed by Washington University.

*The glasses make the cancer cells glow blue after the patient has blue dye injected in their system.

*Cancer is very hard to spot in surgery but these glasses can change that.
*The glasses have not been named yet or put into use but are expected to be used very soon.

Web 2.0

   I am a student of Mr.Porfido. I am in his seventh period Web2.0 class. When i first entered this class i expected to learn how to improve my technology skills and learn more about computers. So far we have learned how to create a blog and post on it. The grading policy in Mr.Porfido's class is a very simple policy. It is 40% for formal assessments,40% for weekly projects,10% for homework,and 10% for informal assessments. If you do your work and apply yourself this class is an easy grade.
    In this class IF we have to do a project I hope we will be able to work in groups. I feel that when I work in a group I feel more comfortable giving a presenation. In this class we use technology everyday. Each day we get our computers and work on the assignment that we were given. We sometimes work on our weekly tech article. If not we work on something else.
    I have only been in this class for about a week and half but i have already learned so much. I have learned to make a blog and post on it. I would never have known how to do that if it weren't for this class. I can not wait to see what other technology skills i will learn over the course of this class. I enjoy this class and can't wait to see what is to come.
